RZA attends Excelsior! A Celebration of The Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible and Uncanny Life Of Stan Lee at TCL Chinese Theatre on Jan. 30, 2019 in Hollywood, Calif.

RZA and director Dallas Jackson originally linked up years ago at Quentin Tarantino's house. Since becoming closer friends, Jackson asked the Wu-Tang Clan honcho to become heavily involved with one of his projects. In addition to starring in Jackson's Thriller film and serving as executive producer, RZA also scored the soundtrack, which was released earlier this month.

After hearing of Jackson's love for RZA's Gravediggaz music, he attempted to tap into that mind-set when scoring the flick. "I love the Gravediggaz vibe that I had, and so I just went back to that mind-set, and, inspired by John Carpenter’s great works over the years in the ’70s and ’80s, I was able to kind of deliver [it]," he previously told Entertainment Weekly. "It maybe reminds me of what they call horror-core. I didn’t call it horror-core. It was coined horror-core by some journalists."

The project boasts 14 tracks in total, and RZA's handprints are all over the effort. He even calls on Wu running mates Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna to help power the slasher-film project. Look for cameos from Earth, Hue Hef, the Hoodies and ODB's son Young Dirty Bastard on the soundtrack as well.

Thriller isn't the only film RZA is involved with in 2019, as the 49-year-old locked down a role in Jim Jarmusch's The Dead Don't Die alongside Adam Driver, Iggy Pop, Danny Glover, Selena Gomez and Steve Buscemi as well. The horror-comedy is set to release June 14.
