Solange Teases New Music in Mysterious Video: Watch

UPDATE: After this story was published, Solange took to Twitter to confirm that her new album -- titled When I Get Home -- will be released at midnight on Thursday night. See her Twitter post below.

New Solange music is on the way. On Thursday (Feb. 28), the “Cranes In The Sky” singer dropped an enigmatic trailer in anticipation for her next album.

The one-minute clip, which was posted to Solange’s Twitter account, features a coterie of dancers clad in oversized black blazers and matching bras. The phalanx performs intricate choreography in a single line over a combination of rapped and sung lyrics like, “Sometimes I dream I go so high/For the ride/Sometimes I feel I’m gonna die/Sometimes I feel I’m gonna die/Got dreams and my eyes wide.”

The trailer is also interspersed with what appears to be home video footage of Solange, as well as a separate scene of the singer joining her dancers in a small room, all dressed alike in long blonde wigs and brown, one-shoulder leotards. The visual ends abruptly by cutting away to a woman saying “nothing without intention. Do nothing without intention,” while performing a cooking demonstration at her kitchen table.

While no release date has been announced, a forthcoming LP would be the first follow-up to Solange’s acclaimed 2016 album, A Seat At The Table, which earned the star her first Grammy award for best R&B performance in 2017.
