LeBron James and 2 Chainz attend the 67th NBA All-Star Game: Team LeBron Vs. Team Stephen at Staples Center on Feb. 18, 2018 in Los Angeles.

LeBron James A&R'd the record.

LeBron James has become a tastemaker of sorts when it comes to rap music. Whether he's bumping new tunes over on his Instagram story, or previewing unreleased tracks, a co-sign from the King can go a long way for an artist. 2 Chainz recognized Bron's ear and tapped him to A&R his highly anticipated Rap or Go to the League album, which will release on March 1.

The ATL native made the announcement official Tuesday morning (Feb. 19). "It’s been quite the journey to get here. All night studio sessions, reflecting, & opening up on these records or as I call it therapy! This is my each one teach one body of work, I wanna celebrate black excellence," he wrote of his delayed fifth studio album. "Rap Or Go To The League the album A&R by @KingJames 3/1."

The project's release will come alongside an exclusive Apple Music interview and behind-the-scenes look at how the effort actually came together. Clips from the first trailer find Chainz and King James in the studio debating the strategy of going with 14 tracks on the album and having another pair land on the deluxe version.

2 Chainz was courtside for the NBA All-Star game in Charlotte over the weekend (Feb. 17), as Team LeBron engineered a double-digit comeback to take home the victory.
