'One Nation Under a Groove' will kick off on May 30 in Milwaukee.

Funk legend George Clinton is folding up the mothership.

The 77 year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is preparing to mount his final tour with Parliament-Funkadelic before retiring from the road after a 50 year recording and tour career. The North American "One Nation Under a Groove" tour will feature Clinton and the expansive funk/soul/rock/jazz/R&B collective performing alongside some of their funkiest accolytes: Galactic, Dumpstaphunk, Fishbone and Miss Velvet & The Blue Wolf.

The tour is slated to kick off on May 30 at the Miller High Life Theatre in Milwuakee, Wis., and hit Chicago, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Portland, Denver and Phoenix before wrapping up at Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas on Aug. 18. Tickets will go on sale beginning Feb. 7 at 10:00 a.m. local time; click here fo more ticket information.

The tour is being promoted as p-funkers' final time to see Clinton's eclectic stage show -- including the legendary Mothership spaceship -- promising a last dance with beloved funk classics such as "One Nation Under a Groove," "Atomic Dog," "Knee Deep," "Give Up The Funk" and "Flashlight." Along for the ride are veteran band members Bennie Cowan (trumpet), Greg Thomas (saxophone), Lige Curry (bass) and Blackbird McKnight (guitar), who've been with Clinton for more than three decades.

And though future P-Funk tours will be missing the raspy voiced leader's iconic soulful croak, Clinton promised that the extended Parliament Funkadelic crew -- including younger members of his family -- will keep the show going after he's hung up his rainbow braids. “It’s always been about the music and the band," Clinton said in a statement. "That’s the real P-Funk legacy. They’ll still be funkin’ long after I stop.”

Clinton, who released his Brothas Be, Yo Like George, Ain't That Funkin' Kinda Hard on You? memoir in 2014 and Parliament's 2018 album Medicaid Fraud Dogg, has not said if he will continue to record after the tour is over. Clinton and P-Funk will tour Australia with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in February and March and play a series of gigs in Hawaii, Austrlia and Japan in April before launching the "Nation" tour.
