Logic is retroactively superimposing himself into The Matrix with new single “Keanu Reeves,” released Friday (Jan. 18).

Reeves’ character in the 1999 film is named Neo but also dubbed "The One." Logic’s nod to that comes when the rapper confidently boasts in the chorus, “I’m the one, bitch, I am the one, like Keanu Reeves.”

The rest of the track -- produced by A.G. and 6ix -- takes aim at both Logic’s growing legion of haters (“You know you made it when they make a meme for ya/ Haters that never made it, I’m living the dream for ya”) and the expanding demographic familiar with who he is (“Finally knew I made it, sittin’ at the red light/ When them soccer moms pull up in they van while I ride/ Like, ‘Oh my God, children, it’s the 1-800 guy”).

Logic's 2017 hit single “1-800-273-8255,” featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, shot the rapper to mainstream fame and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. While countless people praised Logic for bringing suicide and mental health matters into the mainstream, some saw it as a reason to make jokes about him.

Other things that make the Grammy-nominated artist a target, as mentioned throughout the track, are his being biracial (“Do you know I’m mixed like Obama?/ It ain’t a project if Logic ain’t talkin’ 'bout being biracial”) and general success (“Wrote a movie then I sold that joint”).

“Keanu Reeves” has previously leaked, and Logic performed it during his summer 2018 Bobby Tarantino vs. Everybody Tour. One fan asked what the difference is between today’s official version and past leaked versions, and Visionary Music Group -- Logic’s label – simply tweeted back, “One is mixed and mastered.”
