CupcakKe Says 'I'm Ok... Please Don't Worry About Me' After Hospitalization
Chicago rapper alarmed fans over the weekend with a tweet about suicide.
Chicago rapper CupcakKe assured fans that she is doing better on Tuesday night (Jan. 8) after a scary, since-deleted Instagram post on Monday night (Jan. 7) in which she wrote, "im about to commit suicide." The MC (born Elizabeth Harris), explained that she's been "fighting with depression for the longest," then apologized to her followers for alarming them.
"Sorry that I did it public last night but i'm ok," she explained. "I went to the hospital & im finally getting the help that I need to get through , be happy , & deliver great music." She thanked her fans for their concern and prayers, saying "but please don't worry bout me."

Tuesday night's tweet had more than 181,000 likes and nearly 8,000 supportive comments at press time, including notes (before and after the initial post) from Charli XCX, Lizzo, Iggy Azalea and Perez Hilton.

CupcakKe, 21 is slated to kick off a European promotional tour in support of her Eden album in late March after dropping off a planned tour with Iggy Azalea that was ultimately canceled. This isn't the first time CupcakKe has discussed her mental health struggles. Just before the release of Eden last summer she tweeted, "I just want to say I'm at a very low & depressed point in my life, I didn't realize it until I went 4 days without eatting."
