Fans in search of Azealia Banks' long-awaited sophomore LP, Fantasea II, are going to have to keep looking, but the Harlem native decided to drop off a compact three-track EP just in time for the holiday season.

Icy Colors Change popped up on streaming services Thursday (Dec. 20) without much of a warning from the 27-year-old.

The only original work on the project is the title track, of which Banks teased the framework for last December. The other pair of songs feature Azealia showing off her range by tapping into her R&B side, as she covers a couple holiday classics in Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," as well as Frank Loesser's "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve."

Banks has weathered a turbulent year, putting it lightly. The "212" rapper's been engaged in feuds with just about everyone from tech billionaire Elon Musk to Kanye West. She's even taken aim at Nick Cannon and the cast of Wild 'N' Out following a controversial appearance on the show that left her feeling embarrassed.

It's a positive sign to her focus is, at least temporarily, back on the music. Stream Icy Colors Change below.
