The Cincinnati Music Festival announced its star-packed lineup on Tuesday (Dec. 4), with Mary J. Blige and Maxwell leading a roster that includes the usual mix of beloved R&B acts and current headliners. The event that takes over Paul Brown Stadium (home of the NFL's Bengals) for a weekend-long summer rite of passage will once again kick off with a hip-hop-oriented first night show featuring Kid Capri, Slick Rick and EPMD.
The 58-year-old gathering that draws tens of thousands of R&B fans from all over the Midwest and South, will also host Earth, Wind & Fire, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Blackstreet featuring Teddy Riley & Dave Hollister, The Ohio Players, Major, Tamia and Raheem DeVaughn and the New Edition spin-off RBRM (Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike). Last year's edition drew more than 83,000 fans. Tickets are on sale through the festival office now (call (513) 924-0900); tickets will be available through Ticketmaster beginning Saturday (Dec. 8) at 10 a.m.
