Following the tragic deaths of Lil Peep and Mac Miller due to drugs, Lil Xan knew he had to make some drastic life changes in order to avoid a similar fate. Xan took to Instagram on Thursday (Nov. 15) to inform fans of his plans to check into a rehab facility within the next five days.

"I just dropped out of SoundCloud Uni to go to rehab, I leave in like 5 days And I couldn’t be happier with this choice  I love you guys for being so supportive and can’t wait too get back clean headed ready to finish my album," the 22-year-old explained of his future. Xan (real name: Diego Leanos) also gave TMZ a call to further detail why he felt this was the right time to go to rehab, even though he's been "10 times worse" with his addiction issues in the past.

"Mac Miller hit too close to home. I know we struggle with the same problems and I just feel like it's time to get better," he says. When asked what drugs he's exactly been struggling with, Xan states, "Mostly with Hydrocodone. Norcos is what they call them. Basically, a lot of opioids. I've been way worse in the past. I want to do rehab so I can get over this last little hump, so I can finally be back to Diego."

Upon a successful return home after his time in rehab, Lil Xan plans to finish his Mac Miller tribute album and change his artist name to Diego for good. Thursday also marks the one-year anniversary of Lil Peep's death.
