Spanning a multitude of genres, Jordan Max unveiled his sophomore EP Tales Of Us, and an accompanying video for the smooth track "Kingdom," exclusively on Billboard today (Nov. 8).

Showcasing a unique sound, Max's music features sharp songwriting accompanied by his raspy tenor. On Tales Of Us, the British singer-songwriter fuses R&B, funk and soul influences as he contemplates on his past relationships and inner battles.

"These songs came from events that happened to me in the last two years, from falling out of love to marching to freedom," he tells Billboard.

On the EP's opening track "War," Max's powerful voice is juxtaposed with soft piano. Don't sleep on the smooth-as-silk "Pray," either, nor on the album's crown jewel, "Kingdom."

"It's about a breakup I went through a few years ago. The emotions at the time inspired a new feeling that brought out a different texture in my voice," Max explains of "Kindgom," which sees him signing off from that relationship. "This song is me [moving] on from the dark days and heartache I went through after discovering how painful love can be," he adds.
