Making his TV debut on The Tonight Show, Buddy brought it all the way back to the '90s with his funky "Trouble On Central" on Thursday night (Oct. 26). The song from the rapper's debut album, Harlan & Alondra, offered a mix of rapping and singing as his voice led us on a personal journey through his hometown of Compton, California -- a city well-known for breeding the best rappers in the game, including peers Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre.

With honest and vivid descriptions, Buddy's flow was both smooth and sharp, as he confessed in the chorus "I wish I had a girl by my side/ Wish I had a brand new ride/ I wish I had a light/ I wish I had a private flight/ I wish upon the stars sometimes/ I wish I had it right/ I wish I had the finer things/ I wish you wasn't so Cobain/ I wish I had you/ And I wish I wasn't stuck on Central."

Bringing major '90s R&B vibes, he contemplated his Compton days over the sultry beat as an angelical backing vocalist added to the track's steaminess.
