Trippie Redd performs onstage during Adult Swim Festival 2018 at ROW DTLA on Oct. 6, 2018 in Los Angeles.

After teasing the track on social media throughout the month, Trippie Redd officially unleashed the melodic "Topanga" on Monday (Oct. 22). The ChopsquadDJ-produced song served as Zane Lowe's World Record over on Beats 1, where the tune premiered with a coinciding 11-minute interview.

The Ohio native admits that "Topanga" will be the opener to his upcoming anticipated A Love Letter to You 3 project. "If you listen to it from start to finish, that’s how I put it together," Trippie relayed to Lowe. "It’s art, it’s not anything to play with. It’s starts with the ‘Topanga’ track and ends with some guitar. It's a good ending. It has some stuff to do with relationships, but that’s life anyway and what the A Love Letter to You series is about."

The 19-year-old experiments with his vocals a bit on "Topanga," expanding his range into a fresh sonic. "Stop, you in danger/ I can take you to Topanga/ Open my hands like Jesus and save ya/ Know I'm known to tote bangers," he intones over a high-pitched sample.

During his interview with Beats 1, Trippie went on to share that Juice WRLD and YoungBoy Never Broke Again would be making appearances on his project. A previous version of A Love Letter to You 3 featuring "Topanga" actually surfaced on the internet earlier in October, but was swiftly taken down by label reps.
