Gabriel Tirado wants younger artists to learn the ropes of the business side of music prior to entering the industry, so they can evade situations when people may try to take advantage of them. The 24-year-old exudes that exact sentiment with the release of his latest single "Cash Rules" featuring rising star Lil Baby, which arrives via Billboard premiere on Thursday (Oct. 18).
"Cash Rules" pays homage to the Wu-Tang Clan's 1993 classic "C.R.E.A.M." as Tirado boasts his desire for the finer things in life over the Hannibal production. "I live by the motto, 'Whatever you put first, you will be successful at.' I made a decision to focus on my music so I can’t lose as long as I remain focused," G.T. tells Billboard of putting his all into music in hopes of a better life for him and his family.
Tirado calls on Atlanta's Lil Baby for the assist, who takes the baton and injects himself into the opulent visual just prior to the two-minute mark. "Cash rules everything around me/I was stuck at the bottom they tried to down me/In the middle of the projects is where they found me/I be everywhere them pounds be," Baby raps.
