Anderson .Paak Announces 'Oxnard' Release Date Ahead of 'Open Late' Appearance: Exclusive
The wait is nearly over. Billboard has learned that Anderson .Paak's heavily anticipated Oxnard album will arrive on Nov. 16 via Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. Andy is going to make the announcement official during his appearance on Wednesday night's (Oct. 10) episode of Open Late With Peter Rosenberg.
When Rosenberg presses the California native about the project's release date, Paak finally gives in to divulge the secretive information. "Rosenberg, stop. My album drops Nov. 16. You get an album! You get an album! You get an album! You get a fucking album! You get an album," says Anderson, while doing his best Oprah impersonation.
Just last week, the Malibu artist dropped off the latest Oxnard single, which connected the 32-year-old with fellow California resident Kendrick Lamar for the groovy "Tints." The funky tune has even gone on to spawn the dance-themed Tints Challenge.
"This is the album I dreamed of making in high school, when I was listening to [JAY-Z]’s The Blueprint, The Game’s The Documentary and [Kanye West’s] The College Dropout," the "Bubblin" crooner told Rolling Stone.
The newest episode of Open Late finds wrestling aficionado Peter Rosenberg on a Rolex watch shopping trip with Ric Flair, which is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience, in addition to his sit-down with the R&B hyphenate that will touch on his friendship with the late Mac Miller, Oxnard, and much more.
