Post Malone performs onstage during the 2018 American Music Awards rehearsals at Microsoft Theater on Oct. 6, 2018 in Los Angeles.

Post Malone ditched his dreads and said hello to a new shorter, curlier do on Twitter on Friday (Oct. 5). The 23-year-old "Rockstar" singer wrote in his initial post, “had 2 big ass dreads. plz don't stop listening to my music.” He attached a snapshot of him staring into the camera and smoking a cigarette while sitting in front of a photo-loaded wall.

Malone followed up the first picture with others that more clearly display his new style through Instagram and Facebook. In one, Malone bends his head downward while sporting a white tank top that reveals many of his tattoos and a shorter, curlier, hairstyle.

Malone discussed his look when fans suggested he appear on Queer Eye back in July. The show's culture expert, Karamo Brown tweeted, “Lol why does everyone want @PostMalone to be on the show. Did he request it?” Malone answered with, “no they just think I’m ugly and smell lol. love the show tho guys, keep crushing it.”

Regardless of why the rapper chose to say goodbye to his long locks, the internet is going crazy over it. The side-shot he posted to Instagram on Sunday morning (Oct. 7) has already received over 1.8 million likes and 28,000 comments.
