Rising Filipino-Australian singer Jess Connelly returns with a moody new video for "On My Way Up," premiering exclusively on Billboard today (Sept. 27).

The Lana Del Rey-esque visual features shots of Connelly on the set of a funky photo shoot, diving in the ocean and dancing on a deck next to the water. It’s overlayed with the pulsing song, which has the singer inviting a man to call her and beep her, if he wants to reach her.

"On My Way Up" is about attraction and change, as Connelly explains to Billboard. "On the surface, it’s a flirtatious exchange, but beneath it, I’m asking the other to keep up with me on my way up," she says of the electronic R&B track.

Connelly collaborated with Filipino musician and producer Eyedress on the track, which started as a "random beat" that he played. "We were just messing around, but I ended up loving it," she adds.

“On My Way Up” is from Connelly’s mixtape JCON, which was released in August. The singer has also opened for Chance The Rapper, and is currently on tour with Noodles. Check out the list of dates here, and get a first look at the video for "On My Way Up" below.
