Kanye West Shares Videos Featuring Rhymefest, Chance The Rapper and Music Snippets in Chicago: Watch
After making his return to Instagram earlier this week, Kanye West spent his weekend posting updates from his Chicago homecoming, sparking some speculation about whether he and Rhymefest have reconciled.
The pair had a falling out in May over West’s involvement in their charity, Donda’s House. After the spat -- in which Rhymefest reached out to Drake and indicated that West had seemingly abandoned the organization -- the name of the non-profit was changed from Donda’s House to Art of Culture, Inc. Kim Kardashian defended her husband in a tense back-and-forth with his former collaborator, but all's well that ends well -- even if it takes a few months to get there.
On Saturday (Sept. 15), West posted a video of Rhymefest greeting former NFL star Jim Brown to his Instagram.
Brown -- who, like West, has faced criticism from the African-American community for voicing his support of Donald Trump -- posted a picture of the group on his own Instagram, writing, “Great meeting.”
West also posted a video on Sunday (Sept. 16) highlighting his trip to Chicago and various musical clips. The video features shots of West’s childhood home, a studio and the Chicago skyline.
Chance the Rapper, a longtime friend and collaborator of West’s and another Chicago native, also made an appearance on West’s Instagram over the weekend, and he was also pictured at the Avalon Regal Theater with West and Kardashian.
On Saturday, West also posted a drawing that featured labeled sketches, presumably of the people present at the gathering over the weekend, including “Chance,” “Fest,” “Jim Brown,” “Mrs. Brown,” “Taylor” (Chance’s brother, Taylor Bennett) and “Candace.”
There has been no official announcement as to West’s current involvement with Art of Culture, Inc., but last week he tweeted, “We’re putting a Yeezy office in Chicago.”
