Eminem to Do Coin Toss For Detroit Lions' First Game of the Season

Football season is underway, as the NFL season officially kicking off Thursday night (Sept. 6) with reigning Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles taking down the Atlanta Falcons at home. The Detroit Lions' season launches on Monday, Sept. 10, against the New York Jets, and they're celebrating the first game with a Detroit legend: Eminem.

The team shared on Twitter Friday morning (Sept. 7) that the "Lose Yourself" rapper will be joining the Lions captains for the coin toss. 

Eminem hasn’t publicly replied or announced anything regarding the honor, but retweeted the post on his personal Twitter account.

On Aug. 30, the Grammy award-winning rapper caused a frenzy with a surprise album Kamikaze, making headlines with the long-awaited comeback of his signature hostile rhymes -- firing shots at everyone from Charlamagne tha God to Drake and Lil Pump.

One particular Kamikaze jab has caught fire, as Eminem called out Ohio rapper MGK on the track “Not Alike.” Firing shots at the 28-year-old for calling his daughter Hailie “hot as f—“ in a 2012 tweet, the song sparked a massive feud between the artists, resulting on the release of MGK’s diss-track “Rap Devil” just a few days after the Kamikaze release. Eminem hasn't replied to MGK's track yet, but made it clear that a response is on it's way
