Pell Pays Homage to Tame Impala With Funky New Song 'Greyhound': Premiere

Tyler Conde
Pell

After landing "Hear Me" on the Madden 2019 soundtrack last month, Pell looks to keep his success alive with his latest single. The funky "Greyhound" finds the Payday Records artist embracing his indie roots with a Tame Impala influence bleeding through the eccentric record, which arrives via Billboard premiere on Friday (Sept 7).

"I'm thoroughly a fan of no new song sounding like the last. This song was originally called ‘Black Tame Impala’ because they've always been an influence to me, it just happens to show up more on this song," the New Orleans native tells Billboard. "I wanted to make a song for young people who listen to indie music and this tells my story beautifully."

Pell brings a busy summer to a close when he travels north of the border next weekend (Sept. 14) where he is slated to perform at the Westward Music Festival in Vancouver. Other talented artists joining the 26-year-old on the bill include the blossoming Ella Mai, Compton's Buddy, and Kali Uchis
