Ari Lennox Struggles With Letting Go in New 'Whipped Cream' Video: Watch

After announcing she'd be stepping away from music amid mental health troubles, Ari Lennox unveils the cathartic visual to her latest single "Whipped Cream," which she released on Wednesday (Sept. 5). The tuneful singer reminisces about times she enjoyed in the past with her ex-boyfriend over the Ron Gilmore and Elite somber production.

The acoustic visual kicks off with Ari seeing her former lover in the depths of the subway, before jumping around to various intimate settings that have taken a toll on her life's journey. "I've been late on rent, what was I thinkin/ I'm gon' go to the gym, squat real low for a man/ Round you it revolves, I can't shake it off/ Unrequited, admit it, you were never mine at all," she passionately sings.

The 27-year-old is still slated to perform later this month (Sept. 15) at the first-ever Dreamville Festival taking place in Raleigh, North Carolina. The loaded list of guests includes SZA, Big Sean, Young Thug, Nelly, Rich The Kid, and more expected to hit the Dorothea Dix Park stage alongside Dreamville frontman J. Cole
