Missy Elliott Honors Aaliyah on 17th Anniversary of Singer's Death: Watch

Missy Elliott has shared a touching tribute to late singer Aaliyah on the 17th anniversary of her death.    

On Saturday (Aug. 25), the "Work It" rapper posted a video of herself writing a heartfelt note dedicated to the late 22-year-old singer on social media. Watch below.    

"Aaliyah (Babygirl) I can only imagine how great you would be today winning oscars--& creating sick music & still setting fashion trends!" Elliott, 47, captioned the clip.       

"Your mom & brother @RAD_6 & your fans been holding it down 4 u❤️you will always be A One in A Million---- sleep peacefully angel Babygirl----"

Aaliyah and members of her entourage died from an airplane crashed in the Bahamas on Aug. 25, 2001.
