Nicki Minaj Defends Fifth Harmony During Acceptance Speech For Best Hip-Hop Award at 2018 VMAs: Watch

Though hip-hop fans were left heartbroken after being duped by Cardi B and her decision to not perform at the 2018 VMAs, the mood quickly shifted into one of elation when Nicki Minaj nabbed the best hip-hop award.

Despite falling second to Travis Scott on the Billboard 200 this week with her fourth album Queen, Minaj was overly joyous about beating out several rap heavyweights for the award, including The Carters, Drake, J. Cole and Cardi B. Before diving into her speech, Minaj checked comedian Tiffany Haddish for taking shots at Fifth Harmony when she showed love to Camila Cabello and her five VMA nominations. "Don't be coming for Fifth Harmony because Normani is that bitch," Minaj said.

The "Chun Li" lyricist then thanked not only her "fans from all around the world" but also all of her features including The Weeknd, Eminem and Ariana Grande. After giving out her thank yous, Minaj told fans to check in to her Queen Radio show on Tuesday (Aug. 21), as she plans to name of the recipient for "c---k sucker of the day."
