In the midst of her 24-city joint tour alongside Jeremih and DaniLeigh, Teyana Taylor carved out some time to grace the cover of Playboy's September/October issue. The sexy photo shoot coincides with a revealing interview in which the R&B singer details her enduring musical journey, challenges as a mother and much more.
The 27-year-old unleashed her highly anticipated K.T.S.E. LP back in June, featuring thumping production solely from Kanye West. Even though the eight-track project holds a 22-minute runtime, the adventurous R&B album finds Taylor searching for her seat at the forefront of the genre's table. "Everybody knows, as far as the music side, it’s been a long journey for me -- which it has been for any person who’s great in the industry," she shared.
Teyana has been a fixture in music, and her innate fearlessness has allowed her to thrive in numerous creative endeavors outside of singing. "I have a leader vibe about me," she said. "Because I was homeschooled, I had no choice but to raise my hand even if I didn’t want to. But I was fearless, pure, raw," the VII artist admits. "I would see groups of people dancing, and instead of joining in, I would actually want to make up the moves. I’ve always been a person that wants not just to do it; I want to be it."
