Following a brief musical hiatus, Ciara returned to the limelight on Wednesday (July 18) with her first single since 2015, "Level Up," along with the bop's coinciding dance-themed visual. She previously announced the track's title with a series of photos posted to her social media accounts over the weekend (July 15).

"Level Up" is a direct reference to the tweet from January of this year for which she faced backlash serious backlash after telling women to "level up" when it comes marriage. Ciara even had to post a follow-up message explaining herself, in which she recalled being at her "lowest moment" as a single mother to baby Future. The visual features the Atlanta-bred singer showing off her seductive moves alongside members of the ReQuest Dance Crew, with choreography on the fierce routine courtesy of Parris Goebel.

The 32-year-old croons about turning her former ways into blessings as she's happily in love and currently married to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. "My lessons, made blessings, I turned that into money/ Thank God I never settled, this view is so much better/ I’m chilling, I’m winning, like on another level," she croons over the uptempo J.R. Rotem production.

The empowering anthem could point in the direction of an album possibly coming later in 2018. Just last year, Ciara inked a fresh deal with Warner Bros. Records
