After three years under Hit-Boy's guidance on his Hits Since '87 label, K Roosevelt is ready to take his talents to Def Jam Records. Billboard has learned that the Los Angeles native has inked a deal with the major label and believes he's finally making the music he was always destined to be creating.

Roosevelt relays that a strong personal relationship with Def Jam's Senior Vice President of A&R Noah Preston seemed to clinch the deal. "My relationship with Noah was the main factor as to why I chose Def Jam. I trust him, and I know the communication is going to be on point. He knows the kind of artist I am, and I felt like it would be an easy fit," the 30-year-old artist says.

The son of renown Blues artist Keb' Mo' is gearing up to unleash his eponymous debut EP later this month (July 27). Roosevelt gives fans a glimpse into his creative vision through the raw "Adrenaline" video, exclusively premiering on Billboard today (July 13).

"A lot of the times, things I've done in the past, only felt like a percentage of the direction I wanted to go in. This time around has a clear vision for presentation," he explains. "We put together some mood boards for each song. A lot of those mood boards ended up inspiring the videos."
