Buddy Shows His Hometown Love in 'Hey Up There' Video Feat. Ty Dolla $ign: Watch
The title of Buddy's forthcoming album, Harlan & Alondra, salutes the streets he was raised on in his stomping grounds of Compton, Calif. For his newest visual "Hey Up There" featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Buddy and Dolla $ign takeover the Compton-Woodley Airport to show their hometown some love.
Buddy's new video follows the Compton rapper as he and a group of young kids tour the airport facility and Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum. The soulful, bouncy track is feathered with Buddy's golden rap-sing voice as he raps about his ambitions. "Hey up there, I'm on my way up/Tell the radio to play us/Blame it on the place I grew up," he sings, before Dolla $ign injects his honeyed vocals into the mix.
Buddy also raps atop an old-school car with his "day ones" surrounding him before ending the visual by burning a money.
Buddy's latest visual follows the A$AP Ferg-assisted "Black" released back in April. The rapper will join Ferg for the Mad Man tour this July, ahead of his upcoming album Harlan & Alondra, which is slated for release on July 20 via RCA.
