The Hip-Hop Community Reacts to Nas' New Kanye West-Produced Album

Nas' long-awaited 11th album, Nasir, has finally arrived -- and the hip-hop community is thrilled.

The Kanye West-produced album -- which features guest appearances by Pusha T, Mobb Deep's Havoc and Chris Rock -- debuted in full late Thursday (June 14) at a listening party in Queens, New York, hosted on YouTube by Mass Appeal. Soon after, numerous rappers, producers, songwriters, and music execs were praising the seven-song album on social media.

"It’s 630pm, do you know where your Nas album is?" Roots drummer Questlove tweeted Saturday. And Diddy simply tweeted in all caps: "NASIR."

Nasir is the follow-up to 2012’s Life Is Good, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It’s the fourth Kanye-produced album to drop in as many weeks. Earlier sets were Pusha T’s Daytona, Kanye’s Ye and Kids See Ghosts, his collaborative set with Kid Cudi. All albums feature seven only songs.
