GoldLink is back -- with a crucial assist from Miguel. The rapper just followed up his debut album At What Cost with the team-up “Got Friends.” It’s yet another duet with a commercial titan: GoldLink also featured on Christina Aguilera’s “Like I Do” recently.

The rapper also stopped by NPR to perform a Tiny Desk Concert, playing “Bedtime Story,” “Dark Skin Woman,” “Some Girl” and “Pray Everyday (Survivor’s Guilt)” with his whole crew in tow -- a six-piece band and two backup singers included.

Calling the unconventional setting “mad overwhelming low-key,” GoldLink still made hay out of the proceedings, working in spitfire poetry, bossa-nova beats and a political conscience about gun violence and gentrification to the Tiny Desk. And the reaction from the assembled office crowd says it all.
