Though Trippie Redd was announced as one of the newest XXL Freshman, it wasn't a celebratory day for the 18-year-old star. On Tuesday (June 12), Redd, born Michael Lamar White IV, was arrested for allegedly hitting a woman over the head with a gun.

In an e-mail sent to Billboard by the officer Lisa Bender of the Atlanta Police DepartmentRedd was charged with battery and aggravated assault. "On June 12, 2018, at around 1:15 AM, officers responded to a dispute with a weapon call at 50 Lakeland Drive in Northwest Atlanta. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who advised she had been struck in the head with a handgun by Mr. Michael White. The victim advised she had come to the location but was told to leave," reads the statement sent by Atlanta PD.

"As she began to leave, Mr. White struck her on her head with a handgun and pointed the weapon at her. Mr. White advised he did not strike her and wasn’t sure how she was injured. Officers observed a bump on the victim’s head where she advised she was struck.  Mr. White was taken into custody and charged with Battery and Aggravated Assault.  Grady EMS responded to the scene to treat the victim on scene."

Two weeks ago, Redd was arrested after being embroiled in a heated skirmish with Atlanta rapper FDM Grady. In a video obtained by TMZ, Grady claimed that he was jumped by Redd and three other men, after accusing the "Dark Knight Dummo" star of being "disrespectful to his lady." At the time of the story, TMZ reported that Redd was charged with battery.

Billboard reached out to Redd's reps for comment.
