For the past few weeks, there has been a war raging in hip hop between Drake and Pusha T, beginning with Pusha's Daytona standout cut "Infrared" and seemingly ending with Pusha's scathing "The Story of Adidon." While J. Prince and Kanye West may want the two rappers to call a truce, there are many fans who are anxiously waiting for Drake's response, including A$AP Ferg, who believes this beef has "resurrected" the true art of rap feuds.

Ferg stopped by DJ Whoo Kid's "Whoolywood Shuffle" on Shade 45 earlier this week and was asked to share his thoughts on the beef, which has taken over headlines since Pusha dropped his latest album at the end of May.

"I love it. We need that. We need that shit. We need that shit because I'm getting a feeling when Nas said hip hop was dead, he was on to something," Ferg explained. He later added that "with a lot of the stupid stuff that's coming out or the wack shit that's coming out, we're losing the art of lyricism and just being able to be witty with words. What happened to that?"

Ferg implies that nowadays, rappers aren't too concerned with clever rhymes or producing work with substance. "What about being sharp on your feet, having an IQ? What about reading a book so you can have more shit to talk about? I think that was being lost and then Pusha and Drake, they resurrected it. They sound like classy n----as going at it."

However, Ferg and any other fans waiting for Drake's response might not want to hold their breath as J. Prince, mentor to Drake and Rap-A-Lot CEO, and Kanye West have since stepped in to lay the beef to rest.
