Gallant Performs Short Cover of 'Singularity' by BTS' V

Gallant has expressed his love of Korean music on a multitude of occasions, and in his latest cover the R&B singer channeled the popular K-pop boy band BTS.

In a short, 15-second clip uploaded to Twitter on Wednesday night (May 16), Gallant performed the opening of “Singularity,” the intro track from the septet’s soon-to-be-released Love Yourself: Tear album. The song is a solo by member V (Kim Taehyung), and was released earlier this month through its own music video as part of promotions for Tear.

Gallant sang “Singularity” in its original Korean and wrote “big ups to v and @BTS_twt for this one.”

V is known to be a big fan of Gallant.

The American singer has previously spoken to Billboard about his interest in K-pop and was featured in a mini-documentary about R&B in South Korea alongside artists like Epik High and Lee Hi.

The “Singularity” cover was published two days before BTS releases Love Yourself: Tear on May 18. They will perform that album’s single “Fake Love” at the Billboard Music Awards on May 20.
