Festival season makes its return to the Bay Area this weekend when Blurry Vision Fest invades Oakland on Saturday. After being overlooked for years on the hip-hop festival circuit, Goldenvoice brings a unique experience for fans with 10 hours of nonstop music both Saturday and Sunday featuring superstar headliners in SZA and Migos

"We have a turntable stage, so as one act performs, the following act sets up on a separate staging area directly behind," Goldenvoice executive Ellen Lu tells Billboard. "When each act is done, we simply spin the turntable 180 degrees and the next act is all set up and ready to go."

The rest of the lineup doesn't disappoint either, tapping a range of diverse artists including BROCKHAMPTON, Majid Jordan, Isaiah Rashad, NxWorries, DVSN, genre-blending singer Alina Baraz, Smino, the Bay's own Kamaiyah and many more. Everything kicks off around noon with artists hitting the stage around 1:40 p.m. PT.

Middle Harbor Shoreline Park serves as a picturesque venue for the weekend. "You get an incredible view of the Bay, the San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz and the Bay Bridge, while also being surrounded by the massive Port of Oakland Cranes," says Goldenvoice's Danny Bell. "All this while hanging in a grassy park with your friends watching some of the best music out there today."

The festival features a plethora of special amenities, including a beer garden and basketball court, which will hold 3-point contests and games of HORSE. "We designed the show to be a day in the park with your friends. Where you can all pick a spot to post up for multiple hours, eat, drink, dance and hang. With this said, we split the main viewing area, so if you are over 21 you can post up in the beer garden all day while being close to the action," Lu explains regarding the ancillary activities available at consumers' disposal.

Bell also mentioned the surplus of food options that are going to be available. "We will also have a food court featuring Bay Area restaurants and food trucks."

Goldenvoice prides themselves on putting on the best shows across California, and the company found a disconnect in the area's hip-hop and R&B culture. The festival's name "alludes to the idea that the lines between all musical genres are now blurred," Bell continued. "People used to listen to only one genre of music. Now the average music fan listens to multiple."

The group really wanted to bring something special to Oakland for their first major festival with a lack of events previously in the area. "It’s our home, let's make it better," Lu and Bell both concluded.

Tickets are still available for purchase at Blurry Vision Fest's website.
