Kanye West Talks 'Breakdown' and More in Lengthy Charlamagne Tha God Interview: Watch

'I think I’m in a stronger place than I ever was. After the breakdown -- or I like to say, the breakthrough,' the rapper says.

Kanye West's long-awaited interview with Charlamagne Tha God is finally here.

On Tuesday, Kanye uploaded the one-hour, forty-five minute long interview to his YouTube page. Clad in a dark blue hoodie, West sat opposite of Charlamagne (co-host of iHeartRadio’s The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1) and engaged in a fruitful conversation, which tackled a slew of pressing issues including mental health, competition, JAY-Z, Beyoncè and more.

From the onset, Charlamagne asked Ye to addressed his mental space at the current moment. Subsequently after, the Chicago star candidly said how he's now "in a stronger place than I ever was."

When asked to elaborate on the possible cause of the breakdown, Kanye revealed how fear played a huge factor in his ordeal last year. "Fear, stress, control, being controlled, manipulation, like being a pawn or a chess piece in life, stressing things that create validation that I didn't need to worry about as much, you know, just the concept of competition and being in competition with so many elements in one time [played a role]."

Ye also shared his thoughts on his meeting with former President Barack Obama and he how felt when he called him a "jackass." “I just think that we were in a period where he had so much stuff to deal with, he couldn’t deal with a wild card like me,” he said. “I think that’s too unpredictable. Someone that wasn’t being controlled by strategy and thoughts, but someone who’s acting on feelings.”

West has also launched a website, wegotlove.com, that features the interview and GIFs made from it.
