Migos had the internet buzzing when they dropped "Motorsport" featuring rap's newest golden child Cardi B and the veteran herself Nicki Minaj in October, which found the dynamic female duo trading verses for the first time on wax, at a time when the public was trying to pit them against each other.
The moment quickly turned sour, though, as the hype surrounding the rappers' rumored tension manifested into an ongoing saga of Nicki vs. Cardi comparisons that neither party could avoid. Nicki sat down with Beats 1 radio for an interview on Thursday (April 12), during which she finally addressed the long-rumored feud with Cardi and why there was a bit of bad blood between her and Quavo.
"The only thing with Cardi that really really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after 'Motorsport' came out," Nicki told Beats 1's Zane Lowe. "I remember when I first came in the game, if a female of that stature had done a feature with me on it, I would only be singing their praises and saying thank you. The first interview she did after 'Motorsport' came out, it just really hurt me. She looked so aggravated and angry and the only thing she said was, 'Oh, I didn't hear that. I didn't hear that verse.' I was like what?"
