A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is back on the grind. The Bronx rapper has kept his musical output consistent this week after dropping off a batch of new songs. On Wednesday night, A Boogie returned with another new track titled "Best Friend" and called on Tory Lanez for assistance.

The two rappers favor melodic, Auto-Tune-drenched melodies and sound right at home over the bubbly synths and thumping bass line, courtesy of producers Jaegen & Nahum. A Boogie touches on a platonic friendship that has turned romantic even and now Boogie finds himself grappling with his feelings for his former "best friend."

"I’m just saying, I don’t know what to do with you baby/ Don’t tell me you through with me baby/ Understand I don’t want you to be my old lady/ But I know you want me to stay," he croons. By the time the chorus rolls around, Boogie tells his lady that they're better off as friends.

Then, Tory Lanez enters and feathers his smooth flow over the beat as he sings about his own "friends with benefits" experience. "Only you know I won’t try you, why would I try to/ Every city that I fly through I try to fly you/ When you look just like the pictures I just can’t deny you," he croons.

Aside from churning out new music with Lanez and YFN Lucci, Boogie also teased in an interview with HipHopDX that he's been in the lab cooking up music with 50 Cent and Future. "Me and 50 made a song. We’ll probably have another song coming, we’ll probably have three by the end of the week," he told the outlet earlier this month. As for his collaboration with Future, the "Drowning" rapper said they've already recorded a song and could possibly be working on a joint project soon.
