Fans can't get enough of Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier collaboration efforts since they stimulated the minds of hip-hop purists back in 2002 with "Boom."

On Friday (Mar. 16), the brilliant duo returned to release the follow-up to their 2014 project, PRyhme 2. The 17-track album enlists a plethora of assists, but is held down by lyrical excellence from the Slaughterhouse rapper, and classic production courtesy of Preemo, via Antman Wonder's catalog.

Guest appearances throughout the set's 52 minutes include artists such as Dave East, Roc Marciano, Yelawolf, Rapsody, Big K.R.I.T., 2 Chainz, CeeLo Green and more. Premier even revealed to DJ Booth that Lil Uzi Vert was supposed to be featured on "Everyday Struggle," but because of scheduling conflicts, the collaboration didn't come to fruition.

Royce lets fans know there are enough lyricists in hip-hop to go around on "Black History" shrewdly rapping, "Then look at me, Kendrick Lamar and Pusha T/ Em and the Slaughters, y'all don't have to look any farther for the rhymers/ Y'all are the past, at the present time I'm the Future/ 'Cause all my competition tryin' be Desiigners."

Pop-culture references, hip-hop knowledge and social issues are packed into each bar from the 40-year-old, making for a relevant lyrical assault. Ageism in rap has become a popular topic of conversation, as the album even boasts a track titled after the Complex show, Everyday Struggle. "I'm about the youth movement, not about them against us," The Shady Records artist raps.

Speaking to Billboard a few weeks ago, Royce addressed the disconnect between generational hip-hop, "It's just the cool factor. I think the main objective for every kid in America and the rest of the world is to fit in. If you’re an OG and you realize that, you'll have less of an issue," he claims. "They never talk about Pharrell's age because he's so cool. 2 Chainz is cool. Give them a reason to think you're not cool, then they’re gonna crack on your age."
