On Valentine's Day, Jeremih treated fans to a few snippets of new, seemingly love-centric songs on Instagram, teasing that they'll arrive "soon." Well, soon is finally here, as Jeremih announced his new project The Chocolate Box earlier this week, and debuted a new track titled "Forever I'm Ready" on Apple Music's Beats 1 radio on Wednesday night (March 7).
The four-track EP is Jeremih's latest offering since dropping off his Christmas-themed Merry Christmas Lil Mama: Rewrapped project with Chance the Rapper last December. The new effort's lead single "Forever I'm Ready" is a nod to '90s R&B trio H-Town, as Jeremih samples the crew's hit "Knockin' Da Boots," as well as saluting '90s R&B classics like 112's "Only You" and K-Ci & JoJo's "All My Life," singing, "Only you that I'm thinking on the day-to-day/ All my life, yeah, it's always been f---ing pay me." By the time the chorus rolls around, Jeremih is trying to convince his lady he's ready to take the relationship to the next level.
