J. Chase has been steadily gearing up for his upcoming spring time effort Another Late Night by releasing a slew of smooth, soulful boom bap tunes. The Michigan native's Souncloud page boasts fiery remixes of recent smash tunes like Post Malone's "Psycho" and G-Eazy's fiery banger, "No Limit."

Chase's latest single "Friend Zone" off of Another Late Night was just brought to life, as the rapper released the video for the 2Drumatik-produced song today (Mar. 8). The Diego Cruz-directed-clip begins with a foggy cityscape, and finds J hanging out with a lady friend, visibly enjoying time together. Chase raps melodically about falling out of the friend zone and into love over a blissful set of chords accompanied by thumping drums.

"I'm thinking I can be that right dude/ Because when he mess up I'm the one you coming right to/ I make you laugh, been a while since you smiled/ And your friends always talking about how I compliment your style," he spits as he vies to get the girl. His lines may do one thing, but do J's efforts ultimately win her over? Watch and find out.
