Wyclef Jean made a formidable return to music in 2017, where the Haitian icon released three projects in total, including the third installment of his lionized Carnival series. The 48-year-old's philanthropic efforts have been well documented throughout his career. Wyclef continues his charitable ways, as Billboard has learned that the "Sweetest Girl" artist will be performing at this year's Asbury Park Music & Film Festival on Saturday, April 28.

The former Fugees member's performance will directly benefit the youth of Asbury Park, NJ, as proceeds will go toward obtaining a new mobile recording studio for the musically inclined children of the area. The move comes as part of Clef's continuous benevolence and willingness to assist the creative community, while staying a positive role model that any passionate individual can look up to.

"The talent that these kids have is incredible. All they need are the right tools. With this studio, I hope that we can provide an outlet where they can let their talent shine," says the three-time Grammy Award winner. "I’m excited for this studio, and even more excited to hear what the young people of Asbury Park come up with."

The festival kicks off on Friday (April 27) and runs through the rest of an action-filled weekend (April 29). The performance will take place at the historical Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. Ticket packages go on sale Friday (Feb. 23) at 10 AM EST. Visit the Asbury Park Music & Film Festival's official website for more information.
