Cardi B has been a staunch supporter of Colin Kaepernick's cause since last year, when she even shouted the quarterback out during the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. The Bronx native continued that sentiment over the weekend, as TMZ asked about the possibility of a potential Super Bowl halftime performance from the "Bodak Yellow" artist.

Before heading into the Maxim Super Bowl party Saturday night, (Feb. 3) TMZ caught up with the 25-year-old for a short-lived interaction, as she looked to avoid the frigid Minneapolis temperatures. Cardi quickly shut down the idea of her hitting the Super Bowl stage until "they hire Colin Kaepernick back."

Cardi hasn't been shy about her desire for money, but this also shows that she's willing to take a stand for a cause she deems worthy. Before introducing Demi Lovato at last year's MTV Video Music Awards, the Grammy-nominated artist took time out to show support for the free agent quarterback: “Colin Kaepernick, as long as you kneel with us, we’re gonna be standing for you, baby. That's right, I said it."

Going into the 2018 NFL offseason, Kaepernick currently remains unsigned. View her short interview below.
