DJ Premier and Royce Da 5'9' of PRhyme visit the SiriusXM Studios on Dec. 9, 2014 in New York City.

In 2014, turntable legend DJ Premier paired with fellow Houston rapper Royce Da 5’9” to release the self-titled debut PRhyme. And last night (Feb. 1), at exactly midnight, the two put up the pre-order for PRhyme 2 -- due out March 16 -- and dropped the project’s stellar lead track, featuring Harlem rapper Dave East.

“Era,” the first cut from the album, is a layered, multi-part southern-style lyrical exercise with a throwback theme that includes an opening nod to The Bizzie Boyz’s 1990 “Droppin’ It,” with East borrowing the line: “How can you do this when you’re spanking brand new to this?”

The upcoming album is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
