It was all smiles and laughter as Diddy — now also known as 'Love' — stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday (Jan. 3). The hip-hop veteran popped in to explain his new moniker, express his love of apples, and of course, promote his latest televised effort, vocal competition show The Four, which premieres tonight (Jan. 4) at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.

Puff explained that his role, as well as the inclusion of DJ Khaled, is why he feels The Four will be different from the other musical competition shows out now. The Revolt mogul also talked about his role in securing DJ Khaled a spot on the judges panel on the new show, saying, "When FOX called me when we were negotiating the deal, I said there's just one thing I have to have, which is DJ Khaled. I really wanted to come and build a super team, and I wanted to come in and disrupt what was going on with the vocal competition shows."

The pair talked about how Diddy's new name 'Love' came to fruition. The nickname which was an "evolution" of his spirit, was initially supposed to be Brother Love, but Diddy made some amendments. "I made an edit from Brother Love, since I'm already black, to just Love...It's working out great. Who doesn't love Love?"
