It's been a decade since Gnarls Barkley blessed us with new music. But from the sounds of it we could get a follow-up to 2008's The Odd Couple sooner than you think. In an interview with DJBooth, CeeLo Green said he and collaborator Danger Mouse are 50 percent through recording the duo's third album.

“We have already started on a new [Gnarls Barkley] album,” Green said. “We’re halfway in and we have some overtures from the other projects that may not have stood the test of time, we don’t know yet.” The current plan is for the pair to get back in the studio in early 2018 and rip through the rest of the songs in a week or so, per their usual working method. "That’s pretty much all the time we had to do St. Elsewhere because we were heating up around that time," he said. "We were doing something recreationally.”

In the meantime, you can get a taste of what's next via Green's new Danger-produced single, "Brick Road (Cookin' Up)," which is slated to appear on his upcoming mixtape Songbirds.

Listen to "Brick Road" below.

Barkley's 2006 debut, St. Elsewhere, rocketed the duo to world stardom thanks to the inescapable hit "Crazy," which hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won a Grammy for best urban/alternative performance in 2007.
