Khary

Today (Dec. 14), Khary wants you to distance yourself from his Intern Aquarium EP and dive into "Captain" -- the title track from his forthcoming project. The rapper premieres his solitary video for "Captain" on Billboard.

"Captain represents mastery of self mentally, physically and spiritually," the Rhode Island rapper tells Billboard. "As humans, we reach for it on a daily basis. When you ask most people what they want out of life, they say happiness, and I believe you have to be the captain of yourself to achieve this."

Khary explains that Captain as an album is "the story of my life as a 20-something male living in New York."

In the video, Khary runs into an empty room, in an empty apartment, as we look on from a grainy lens. His head is in his hands. He is, literally, in a room alone with his thoughts. Some of those thoughts, he raps, "The fall of Troy was contained in a horse/ They wanna know what's on my head/ A couple bands like I'm LeBron/ Money is the motivation/ But you will never catch me paper chasing."
