Statik Selektah's new album "8" arrives Friday.

With the release date for his forthcoming album 8 looming, Statik Selektah liberates his soulful track "Slept to Death" featuring Curren$y and Cousin Stizz

First, Selektah lays out a dreamy soundscape for both lyricists to seamlessly float over, with the New Orleans veteran attacking the track first. Known for his smoky raps, Curren$y boasts about his tireless work ethic and crisp "Air Max" sneakers. His counterpart, Cousin Stizz, shreds his adversaries with bravado and proclaims himself rap's "Rookie of the Year." 

"Stizzy from the bottom, how we out here with the jets/ 'Cause he don't be impressed, he was always thinking next," raps the Boston MC over the jazzy instrumental. 

For Statik, 8 will feature a slew of rap heavy-hitters, including Wiz Khalifa, Run the Jewels, 2 Chainz, G-Eazy, Joey Bada$$ and more. Take a listen to "Slept to Death" below:
