Khalid took over the American Music Award stage Sunday (Nov. 19) for an electric performance alongside Imagine Dragons. Hours after the Los Angeles award show, the "Young Dumb & Broke" singer posted to Twitter detailing an incident where he was allegedly groped by a fan. The 19-year-old tweeted, "Lol I go to talk to a fan and she grabs my ass, how fuckin' old are we???"

It’s unclear when or where the altercation exactly took place, but the American Teen artist continued in a thread of tweets saying he ignored the culprit and fled the scene, because he doesn’t “like showing anger in front of anyone.”

The outgoing R&B artist says he won’t let this one unfortunate interaction ruin his experience with fans going forward, though. “One shitty person isn’t going to keep me away from anybody, I really love u guys,” said the “Location” artist on social media. But Khalid wanted to put his story out there, because “it can happen to anybody.”
