With lean use and pill references running rampant throughout hip-hop lyrics and visuals, Wiz Khalifa took to social media to make a point about denouncing the “purple drank,” in an anti-lean PSA. The Pittsburgh native has always supported the use of marijuana in the past and is a weed savant of sorts, but felt obligated to speak out about the new trend.

Wiz captioned his Instagram post with “LEAN IS LAME,” before relaying a message to his followers. “When a lot of people follow one trend or find themselves doing the same thing that everybody else is doing, you don’t really get somebody who speaks for the other side,” said the Rolling Papers artist. “So I’ma just go ahead and speak for the other side. Lean is lame. Not for the lean sippers. Don’t get in your feelings. It’s for the people that don’t fuck with that shit. Feel empowered. Know, lean is definitely lame.”

The 30-year-old dropped off his latest offering Friday (Nov. 7), with 10-track mixtape Laugh Now Fly Later. The project will reportedly precede Wiz’s upcoming much anticipated Rolling Papers 2 album.  Check out Wiz's PSA clip below.
