Lil’ Kim returns from hiatus to give Queen Bee fans a taste of what’s to come on her upcoming 2018 album. Friday (Nov. 4), the Brooklyn native released “Took Us a Break,” featuring vintage bars over a gritty beat reminiscent of that golden-age hip-hop sound.

The song came in conjunction with a black and white video featuring Kim and a phalanx of backup dancers throwing money and dancing all over the set. “Took Us a Break” is expected to appear on Kim’s first solo album since 2005, with an official single anticipated to drop at the top of the new year. Queen Bee’s rhymes are still as crisp as ever when she raps, “I was raised in a school of hard knocks/These bitches is class clown/ Giving y'all my old clothes/ My old flows, like hand-me-downs.”

The “Crush On You” artist went on Ebro In The Morning to discuss a number of topics, including Remy Ma’s upcoming single, on which Kim is featured for the hook and bridge. The fashion icon confirmed she is not directing shots at Nicki Minaj on the teased track, but could not speak on Remy’s intent.

“The messed up thing is, because we are real artists, me and Remy we do what we do, no matter what we say. If I say fake ass such, such, and such,' they gon' [say], 'Oh, she's talking about such, such, and such," she said. "I feel like people know me and Remy and if we gon' talk about somebody, we're going to say their name. We're gonna address them. We're gonna make it that, or whatever. We just making music. We're doing what we do. You know what I'm saying? My mind is always on that bag. My mind ain't on ol' girl or anything else.”
