Watch Playboi Carti Perform 'Magnolia' on 'TRL'
MTV's TRL reboot is in full swing and kicked off its return to TV on Monday (Oct. 2) with musical guests Ed Sheeran and Migos. On Tuesday (Oct. 3), MTV followed up by recruiting Playboi Carti as a musical guest, where he performed his summer hit "Magnolia" and judged a Milly Rock competition.
Carti sauntered down the runway-style stage to start his performance and was met with screams from the audience members. He bounced around the stage and threw in a few subtle dance moves as he rapped the infectious chorus of "Magnolia."
Later in the evening, Carti was asked by TRL hosts DC Young Fly and Tamara Dhia to judge three contestants on their best Milly Rock, with the winner walking away with $250. All three participants incorporated the popular dance move in their performance, but ultimately showed off their own personal dance styles, from breakdancing to acrobatic flips.
The "wokeuplikethis*" rapper is preparing to unleash his long-awaited collaborative mixtape with Lil Uzi Vert, which he previously teased on his Snapchat. Carti also dropped off a video tribute to the late Hugh Hefner on Monday (Oct. 2) and even teased a new self-produced song.
