Stream PARTYNEXTDOOR's New EP 'Seven Days' Featuring Rick Ross & Halsey
PARTYNEXTDOOR has kept his output consistent for 2017 -- releasing his four-track EP Colours 2 earlier this year and multiple loosies in recent months -- even racking up a songwriting credit on the year's biggest hit with DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts" featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. Heading back on the solo tip, PARTY returned on Friday (Sept. 29) with his new EP Seven Days, ahead of his highly anticipated full length Club Atlantis.
The enigmatic crooner teased his new EP by posting artwork and titles for each song featured on the mini album over the course of six days. Though PND keeps the features to a minimum, he tapped the likes of Rick Ross and Halsey.
Ross appears on "Better Man," a slow-burning, heartfelt track that finds PARTY acknowledging his wrongdoings and asking his lover for time so he can become the man she needs. "It seems like breakin' your heart is the easiest part/ And lovin' you right, only gets harder," he sings. He later admits that he witnessed his mother go through the same heartbreak he's putting his woman through.
Later, PND and Halsey team up for the bubbly earworm "Damage." Party revealed in an interview with Zane Lowe that he had "a bad July" and when Zane asked him to elaborate, he replied, "Women." He hinted that relationship was serious, but he screwed it up, a pattern he says constantly falls into.
"A lot of the songs literally happened right after," he said, although he wouldn't consider it a breakup record. "Maybe she walked out of the house and how I deal with things is like 'Ok.' Walk right upstairs to the studio and take it in one cut."
